“PRIME Minister Manasseh Sogavare, MP has welcomed the new British High Commissioner to Solomon Islands, His Excellency Dr Brian James Jones to the country.
“This was when H.E Dr. Jones paid a courtesy call to Prime Minister Sogavare last week and to present a copy of his Letter of Introduction from the Prime Minister of Great Britain, Rt. Hon. Boris Johnson, a statement from Prime Minister Press Secretary reported.
“Prime Minister Sogavare acknowledged the longstanding diplomatic relationship between Solomon Islands and Great Britain.
“Prime Minister Sogavare and H.E Dr. Jones also discussed the way forward to the recent call made by His Royal Highness, Prince Charles to better protect the forests by embracing the "bio-economy" as vital to the nation's future prosperity.
“H.E Dr Brian Jones will also serve as and non-resident High Commissioner to the Republic of Nauru”
