NZ TO UPGRADE SPORTS FACILITIES IN HONIARA

“The New Zealand Government through the New Zealand High Commission and Honiara City Council have entered a memorandum of understanding towards the upgrade project of sporting facilities.

“City Mayor Wilson Mamae and New Zealand High Commissioner to Solomon Islands Don Higgins signed the memorandum to begin the project at the Multipurpose Hall vicinity.

“This is part of the ongoing support of the New Zealand Government funding towards to the upgrade project at the Multipurpose Hall.

“Through the New Zealand Aid project, a two-storey building will be built at the old community centre hall.

“The building will accommodate the youth hub of the City and sporting facilities.

“The youth hub will be a centre for youths and volunteers within the city to conduct their training and also to help them with their activities.

“The ground floor of the Building will be equipped with sporting facilities to be used by the general public.

Mayor Mamae really appreciated the project and thanked the New Zealand Government through its High Commission for the funding.”
