SI: TWO NURSES SENT TO HELP IN SAMOA

“THE Government has deployed two nurses to Samoa to assist in the measles outbreak there.

“The death toll from the outbreak has reached 75 as of Tuesday, while hundreds of cases were reported.

“Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Medical Services Pauline McNeil revealed the deployment while speaking at the commissioning of 71 new nurses in Honiara, Monday.

“She said as neighbours, Solomon Islands felt obliged to help Samoa in their hour of need.

“The two nurses are expected to join many other health workers from around the Pacific who have been deployed to assist Samoa cope with the measles outbreak..”
