While it is true to say the Solomon Islands has made substantial inroads in meeting its Millennium Development Goals, in common with many of its small Pacific neighbours, there are still many challenges to face in terms of development due to the diverse, scattered geography of the island nation, its economy, transportation and communication difficulties and a high population growth.
