SOLOMON ISLANDS LONDON MISSION COST $3.5 MILLION

Quoting the Solomon Star newspaper – 6 April 2018

“The newly established London Mission cost government $3.5 million compared to $1.5 million cost for Brussels and the $1.1 million office in New York this year.

“Speaking on the floor of parliament during the committee of supply, Minister for Foreign Affairs and External Trade Milner Tozaka said, the London mission cost $3.5 million because it is a new mission which the establishment cost will be more costly than the ongoing missions, like New York and Brussels.

“The Minister said, because of the establishment cost for that new mission in London it will reach that amount but he assured that the figure will drop in the following year.

“Tozaka said the London mission is very important for the country to stay connected with the United Kingdom because there are a lot of activities Solomon Islands can benefit from UK.

“Our palm oil is processed in Liverpool and is one of the best oil produced compared to other countries around the world.”

“The Minister was making clarification to question asked by Member of Parliament (MP) for Aoke-Langalanga Matthew Wale, on Thursday.”
