Malaita lagging behind in health reporting

Quoting the Solomon Star newspaper – 19 June 2018

“MALAITA province needs to improve on its health reporting.

“The Malaita provincial heath director Dr Henry Kako highlighted the need to improve on this, during the first day of the Malaita health conference in Auki, Monday.

“He said Malaita is lagging behind when it comes to reporting, adding this is one area that those who headed health departments in the province must be aware and improve on.

"In terms of health information system Malaita province is lagging behind when it comes to reporting which means we have a lot of work to do," he stressed.

"This has affected many indicators nationally because we Malaita contribute a lot in terms of population, consumption of health services, and consumption of funds.”

“More so, he said there are many health projects that have been implemented in Malaita, but the province is yet to see the full potential of those projects.

"There are many health projects that have been implemented in the province over the years but we are yet to see the positive impact of the projects in the province to this day," Dr Kako expressed this, in great disappointment.”
