Solmons band invited to Nauru 51st anniversary

“A local band, Point of View (POV), will jet off to Nauru today to take part in the country’s 51st independence anniversary celebration.
“The band is invited by the Nauru government to perform at their official anniversary programme.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade (MFAET), which has been the contact point for the Nauru government to the band handed band members their return air tickets yesterday.
“Spokesman for the band, Sherwin Rore, said they are very excited, honoured and humbled to be given an opportunity by the Nauru government to perform in their independence anniversary.
“Rore confirmed eight members of the band will travel to Nauru. All costs associated to the trip are covered by the Nauru government.
“According to the programme sent to the band, the band will perform in three programmes.
“POV is a small but growing band that started in 2010. The band mainly provides live music entertainments in Honiara pubs.”
