The World Wide Fund for Nature-Solomon Islands and the WWF-Solomon Island office continues to support nearly 1,000 women through savings clubs, and undertaking business and financial management training in the Western Province.
The Gizo based WWF Field Project Coordinator, Mrs Salome Tepo, has said that more than 120 new small businesses have been achieved under what she mentioned was the GELCA savings club.
Yesterday, a MOU between the WWF and the Western Provincial Government was signed to jointly pursue the interests of women in relation to environmental sustainability, food security and livelihoods.
It is hoped by signing the MOU further long-term benefits will reach more communities in the Western Province.
