An investment in youth self-reliance and empowerment underway in West Kwara’ae.
A praiseworthy training programme for youths is underway at Dala in West Kwara’ae providing young people with information about kava and planting, growing, harvesting and marketing the important cash crop.
According to Mr. Francis Samo. the Malaita provincial government Youth Coordinator, the idea behind the programme is to engage youths across Malaita and empower them to take on some beneficial work providing a cash return.
It is understood, the MPG through his office will liaise with Sol Organic that will be responsible for supplying free kava stalks for the programme.
“We believe if the programme reaches youths across the province, it will be an investment for them to become self-reliance,” Mr.Samo has said.
A worthy initiative, well done MPG and Mr. Samo.
