THE ROLE WE MUST PLAY IN CONTROLLING THE SPREAD OF COVID-19

Consider the role we all play in stopping the spread of Covid-19

It is known that the deadly virus we have come to dread, known as coronavirus, or Covid-19, is spread by close contact and through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes.

While the Solomon Islands still remain free of the hidden disease I would urge all to consider the role one must play in stopping the virus.

We are not as individuals an island and in that sense, we are part of a broader community, part of a possible transmission chain.  If one gets infected it makes the situation much worse as then one puts other people in danger, not just oneself.

While there are still uncertainties about the nature of Covid-19, one thing is sure is that it can make us very, very sick and others in large numbers.

Please respect the MOHMS advice, keep yourselves and others safe and aim to keep Covid-19 away from the Solomon Islands.

Yours sincerely
