5 March 2019

The Dionysus Ensemble (UK) gaining donations to help PASI with music education and training.

I am very pleased to be able to tell readers in the Solomon Islands that the Dionysus Ensemble in the UK, closely affiliated with the Commonwealth Institute, has been invited to perform before H.M. The Queen and other members of the Royal Family at the forthcoming Commonwealth Day service in Westminster Abbey this coming 11 March 2019.  The entire service will be broadcast by the BBC and streamed live that day on U-Tube.

You will know that the Dionysus Ensemble is working towards visiting Honiara soon to be able to give practical music education instruction and training to the group of talented young students that are already members of the Piano Association of the Solomon Islands (PASI)

The Dionysus Ensemble has already managed to collate several thousand pounds through their UK performances and with help from many generous donations.

I would like to take this opportunity of saying thank you to the UK professional musicians for working so hard to support PASI and also to extend congratulations on being given the distinct honour of performing at the Commonwealth Service before the Royal Family.

 Yours sincerely

 Frank Short
