A message and advice that should please not go disregarded

Worldwide deaths related to Covid-19 surpassed 5 million on Friday, according to a Reuters tally, with unvaccinated people particularly exposed to the virulent Delta strain.
The variant has exposed the wide disparities in vaccination rates between rich and poor nations, and the upshot of vaccine hesitancy in some western nations.

An average of 8000 deaths were reported daily across the world over the last week, or around five deaths every minute.

However, India, one of the first countries ravaged by the Delta variant, has gone from an average of 4000 deaths a day to fewer than 300 as its vaccination campaign is rolled out.

WHO approved vaccines are available in the Solomon Island with roll out programmmes taking place in several provinces and, once again, I would urge all unvaccinated citizens to heed the advice of the MHMS and the government and get vaccinated before the Delta variant of coronavirus breaches the stringent health measures in place. One hopes that such a situation does not happen, but it did in New Zealand, Fiji, NSW, Victoria and Queensland in Australia.
Better to be safe than sorry.
