Study on plastic waste

Quoting the Solomon Star newspaper – 8 August 2019

“A team from Taiwan International Corporation and Development Fund (ICDF) led by Mars Shiue have visited the Mayor Of Honiara City Wilson Mamae, City Clerk Charles Kelly and the Executive and management of Honiara City Council (HCC).

“The purpose is to work with HCC to create a study tour and research on plastic wastes within Honiara City.

“Following the team’s assessment and research once completed, they will come up with options on what they would offer in regards to plastic wastes.

“Following the visit, the Mayor and City clerk both were pleased that ICDF is the first external partner who is here to partner with HCC to help in regards to plastic issues here in the country, especially here in Honiara.

“Mayor Wilson Mamae has urged the team to “carry on with the study tour and research, the sooner the better”.

“The team is expected to commence their study tour and research with a first visitation to the Dump site today.”
