“Visiting Eagon Group of Companies Chief Executive Officer (CEO) has welcomed the opening of the newly serviced Munda international airport in Western Province.
“Young-Ju Park hailed the initiative by the Government after spending the past week to visit Eagon’s operation in Arara near Viru in New Georgia.
“Arara is several kilometres from Munda.
“As of April this year Solomon Airlines started servicing the Brisbane- Munda route every weekend.
“Speaking to the paper in an interview last week Mr Park said the new service will boost visitors’ arrival into the province as well as the country.
“He said Western Province offers one of the best tourism destinations in Solomon Islands because of its natural beauties.
“Mr Park who has been visiting the country once a year said the province even has the potential to become one of the top tourism hot-spots in the region.
“Since the serving of Brisbane-Munda route there has seen a steady increase in visitors’ arrival into the province.”
