The Island Sun newspaper today, Thursday, gave news of the success of Rose Strickland, a Solomon Islander becoming admitted to the High Court in the Cook Islands.

Quoting the news report published in the Island Sun it read.

National Environment Service’s Roselyn Strickland was this morning admitted as a Barrister & Solicitor of the High Court of the Cook Islands which was presided over by Chief Justice Hugh Williams.

Rose joined her NES family in 2019 after returning to Rarotonga with a Bachelor of Law Degree in 2018 from Emalus Campus (USP Law School) in Vanuatu.

This morning, CJ Hugh Williams told family, friends, and colleagues this morning that it was rare to see a graduate from USP admitted to the bar and was honored that he was present to preside this morning’s ceremony in person.

Rose is also the first CI & Solomon Islands Barrister & Solicitor of the High Court in the Cook Islands, which made this morning’s ceremony extra special.

On behalf of the Deputy Prime Minister & Minister for Environment, Mr. Robert Tapaitau, the Director of NES, Mr. Nga Puna and your NES family – congratulations Rose, we are so proud of you.

End of quote.

Congratulations Rose. Well done!

Yours sincerely
