Letter to the Editor,  Island Sun and Solomon Star Newspapers.
The Honiara Football Association (HFA) executive is reportedly making plans to improve football standards in the country for next year’s season.
The Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) is also known to be keen to develop the game of soccer at the grass roots level and to make the game more accessible to youths, both women and girls, with the creation of a youth league for players under the age of 18.
I would greatly encourage both the HFA and the SIFF to pursue their plans to involve more young people in the game of soccer for teaching football skills has important secondary aims of imparting life skills such as discipline, self-reliance, team work and initiative.
With my best wishes for the successful formation of a youth league in the very near future.
