INDUSTRIALIZATION SUMMIT

A Government-funded Industrialization Summit begins, today, in Honiara and will end on Thursday.

The Summit, organized on the theme “Solomon Islands Industrialization and Development, will focus on learning and understanding the experiences exemplified by Singapore’s economic development and industrialization, now regarded as a successful regional, economic power-house in Asia.


The participants at the Summit will have the opportunity to learn from a team of experts from Singapore who have been invited to share their personal knowledge and expertise in the areas of business development and who will give guidance to local institutions on appropriate institutional frameworks to support the Government’s proposed Economic Growth Centers, Business Development Centers, Industrial Parks and Special Economic Zones to support the productive sector.


The Summit is being held to underscore the seriousness of the DCC Government’s policies in pursuing the development and promotion of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) sector in the Solomon Islands.
