Japans grant assistance for grassroots human security projects

Over successive years since my time in the Solomon Islands (in the late 90’s) I have seen the Government of Japan offer financial assistance in the Solomon Islands for development projects aimed at benefitting the community at the grassroots level, including schools and hospitals.

Knowing as I do of the requirements of the National Referral Hospital (NRH) Cancer Unit for at least one functional mammogram machine to be used for breast cancer screening of women, a condition highly prevalent in the Solomon Island and one that is often fatal if not detected and treated early, I would earnestly request the Government of Japan, through its local embassy, to please consider supplying a mammogram machine to be used in the NRH’s Cancer Unit.

Yours sincerely
