MEDICAL AND SPORTS MATERIALS GIFTED TO SCHOOLS

THL, K-water back schools close to project site

Quoting from the Solomon Star newspaper – 13 June 2019

“The Tina Hydropower Limited (THL) and Korea Water Resources Corporation last Wednesday on 5 June presented medical, educational and sport materials to four schools situated within the Tina River hydro-power project site.

“The lucky recipients included Rate primary and community high school (RPCHS), Vuramali Kindy school, Anva kindy and primary and Areatakiki kindy and primary school located around the Tina River Hydropower project site.

“The donation was made by Mr. Haksoo Lee, the CEO of Korea Water Resources Corporation (K-water) in South Korea which is the major sponsor for Tina Hydropower Limited (THL).

“The principal of Rate RPCHS Lyndon Philemon on behalf of all the schools said that the materials will be a big help to support the many educational and sport programs delivered.

“Tina River Hydropower project is a high priority project for Solomon Islands Government and the project represents the first national nation-building infrastructure project that has been developed through a Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) approach.”
