Opening of the Rade Aekoa Rural Health Clinic

The Island Sun newspaper today gave news of the official opening of the Rade Aekoa Rural Health Clinic in Malaita, co-funded by the Japanese government and the Malaita provincial health service.

The Cousellor of the Embassy of Japan in the Solomon Islands, Mr. Norimasa Yoshida officially cut the ribbon to officially open the health care facility.

He urged all the local communities within the catchment area of the new clinic to continue to care for the clinic and its facilities.

Mr,Yoshida said the new health facility would provide primary health treatment to the people who live in ward 30 and the catchment areas in Langa Langa lagoon and be beneficial to thousands of rural people.

 Mr. Yoshida took the occasion to express appreciation to the Malaita provincial health service for setting up the new medical service facility. 

 “I would also like to say thank you to the health board members and the stakeholders for your tireless and concerted efforts.

I hope that the facility will be well maintained in order to benefit many generations and be remembered as a symbol of the friendship between the two peoples of Japan and Solomon Islands for many years to come,” he concluded.

I very much welcome the news of the opening of the Rade Aekoa health clinic and extend my thanks to the Government of Japan for the facility and staff housing along with grateful thanks to the Malaita provincial health authority for co-funding the much awaited and needed rural health clinic.
