Honiara’s public service staff participated in a half-day clean-up of the city environment.
As part of fund-raising efforts many of Honiara’s public service staff took to the streets today clearing rubbish, pruning over-grown trees, brushing roads and bagging the collected waste and rubbish.
According to the Island Sun newspaper, from which I quote:
“At Vaevaya road staff from the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development used their half day to keep the city clean by brushing and cleaning the roads.
“At the Electoral Commission office, the staff took their time out pruning trees, cutting grass and collecting unwanted rubbish along the road.
“At Lawson Tama, the staff from the Ministry of Public Servant also came out in full force to clean up the area.
“Along the road at China Town the staff of the Ministry of Health also left their offices to participate in the half city clean-up initiative.”
Hearty congratulations to all public servants who participated in the clean-up project and especially bearing in mind the work was for a worthy cause.
