According to a feature story in today’s Island Sun newspaper, the people of Ulawa Island in the Makira Ulawa Province now have a new Rural Training Centre at Lopo, East Ulawa.

The first intakes at the RTC include secondary school dropouts and those needing further training in various trade skills such as electrical, construction, agriculture, furniture and life styles (home economic).

A report says the people are happy with their new RTC because it means youths can now be taught skills that will enable them to secure jobs or become self-employed in the future.

News of the new RTC at Lopo comes as welcome news and it will provide a much-needed training center for young people to learn skills to aid their employment chances.

Yours sincerely
