I wrote quite recently how the incumbent police commissioner of the RSIPF has taken to wearing a white uniform shirt on the style I first issued to senior officers of the then RSIP in early 1999.
In my earlier letter I gave reasons why I adopted such a style of uniform.
A correspondent from the Solomon Islands wrote to me today asking me to give an example of the uniform, seemingly having a touch of nostalgia for the 'old days' and his like for the style of uniform then being worn by the RSIP senior ranks.
I have attached a photograph of the senior officers of the Force assembled at Rove in honour of myself having exceeded 40 years of police service in several independent and dependent countries and territories as at April 1999.
In the photograph two senior female senior officers chose to wear a tie, but they need not have done so, as female senior officers were exempted from wearing the tie their male colleagues wore has part of their uniform.
