“Discussions to develop a retaining strategy to address the current migration of nurses for international recruitments is being organised by Ministry of Health and Medical Services with primary stakeholders.
“This is according to a Ministry of Health and Medical Services press statement.
“The statement said this strategy will help to address the growing problem of migration of nurses for international recruitments.
“Once completed, it will be presented to the Senior Executive Committee of MHMS and Eventually to Ministry of Public Service and Solomon Islands Nurse Association (SINA),” the statement said.
“It also highlighted that MHMS through the Nursing Division has the Nurses Supervised Practice ProgramME (SPP) ongoing and 75 newly recruited nurses who are on this programme will be fully registered by the end of this month (October) and 82 graduates have also started SPP in August were already registered in July.”
