Two Australian ships to assist Bina Harbour project

Quoting the Island Sun newspaper – 28 October 2019

“TWO Australian ships will also be here shortly in Solomon Islands to assist with surveying work at Bina Harbour in Malaita.

They are HMAS Leeuwin, and HMAS Larrakia.

Australia High Commissioner to Solomon Islands, Rod Brazier confirmed this during the welcoming ceremony of HMAS Adelaide in Honiara last Thursday.

Brazier said the Solomon Islands Government has asked them to conduct hydrographic survey work to get the ball rolling on this iconic project which, with the help of the people of Malaita,

 In the meantime, Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare will join Brazier in Perth early next month for the hand-over ceremony of the first of the new Guardian Class patrol boat which will arrive here in Solomon Islands at the end of the year.
