Choiseul Bay Provincial Secondary School’s refurbishment work aided with a substantial cheque from Solomon Ports

Last Friday, Solomon Port’s handed over a cheque for $105,000 to Choiseul Bay Provincial Secondary School.

The money will be used towards the full repair and renovations of the school’s kitchen and dining hall building, which have been in a poor state for many years.

The school’s principal Murray Rotoava said receiving the money was a huge step as the funds would help to provide a clean, dry and safe environment for the school’s students to cook and eat their meals.

Mr Rotoava said the school had been trying over the years to improve the facilities but had not been successful because of financial difficulties.

The Solomon Ports Chief Financial Officer, George Rausi, who handed the cheque for A105, 000 to Mr Rotoava, said the SOE was happy and honoured in giving back to the community since it was important to help improve rural provincial schools.

He added that some of the staff at Solomon Ports were former students of the school and commented, “We are happy to give back to the school for contributing to the development of Solomon Ports.”

Yours sincerely
