A relatively recent, serious shooting incident in the Solomon Islands, at Mbike Island, was the first such occurrence in nearly ten years.
The police investigations are continuing but, according to local media sources at the time of the incident, an armed group of men stormed the Mbike island resort where several Members of Parliament from the Democratic Coalition for Change (DCC) Group had camped prior to the election of a new Prime Minister and the formation of the now DCC Government.
