Help, encouragement and support for the Solomon Islands

In 2014 I personally launched my website on the internet and Google’s 1st page.

In the introduction to the website, I said the following.

Welcome To Solomon Islands In Focus

As a longtime friend of the Solomon Islands, let me say the aim of this website is to bring you news about the Solomon Islands, promote tourism to the "Happy Isles” and generate donations for causes in the Solomons that will provide income for charitable institutions dependent on aid and help to give much needed money for local craftsmen and women.

I would encourage you to see for yourself a most unique and different part of the world and meet friendly, hospitable people while enjoying the sheer delights and beauty of a easy accessible Pacific paradise.

In the intervening years since 2014 my support expanded to practical assistance to the medical services by way of medical equipment and supplies but also encouragement and support to all efforts by the government, development partners, international agencies, NGO’s, organization, private and public and private individuals seem to be aiding the government, the people and the country as a whole,

My mission has never been political and essentially charity orientated.

In the past month, two of my letters posted in support of the Solomon Islands and sent to the SI media have been falsely changed to include words and sentences that I did not write and re-circulated fraudulently in my name. The same articles were doctored on Linkedin purported to have been done by myself.

I strongly condemn such unlawful actions.

I would like to reassure all readers of my letters and articles that my voluntary work I do for the Solomon Islands remains entirely non-political and in keeping with my original aims and purposes that I began firstly in 1997 and have continued in the 24 yrs since.

If I find any more of my letters or articles falsely altered for whatever reason the perpetrator might wish to taint my support with a political brush, then I will bring to reader’s attention the falseness of the differences in the two letters – the original one and the false version.

Yours sincerely

Frank Short.
